Christina “Mini Sexxi” Mailloux was introduced to Crossfit by a guy several years ago.
Her curiosity was piqued, and in February 2009 she started working out at Front Range
Crossfit. Although the guy only lasted a few weeks, her passion for Crossfit has never
Prior to Crossfit, Christina competed in high school track and was on her college Equestrian
team. After she moved to Colorado for graduate school, she found herself getting weak and
bored at her local globo gym. Since starting Crossfit, Christina has put on nearly 10 lbs of
muscle and seen vast improvements in her strength and overall fitness. She now competes
in local Crossfit events as well as in Olympic weightlifting competitions. She is looking
forward to sharing her passion for Crossfit and knowledge of the Olympic lifts with others.
Christina has her Ph.D. in Human Medical Genetics and is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at
National Jewish Health where she studies the effects of inhaled steroids on airway smooth
muscle cells as it relates to asthma.
